Just for once
I want to write a happy story.
One where the guy gets the girl
And the girl gets the gold.
A story that makes me so happy
I cry
Instead of just the latter.
I want to write a story of triumph
And overcoming your deepest fears
And inner demons.
A story to make me envy and admire
The hero
Rather than pity the victim.
I want to write a fairytale
With true love and a happily ever after.
So I can imagine I'm the prince
And she's my beautiful princess
And we're together.
Except this time, nobody ends up with a broken heart.
But most of all
I want to write a story
That isn't about me.
