Wisdom such as this.

(A tribute to sappho)

Perched apon a peak we sat
and watch the stars float
as the cool night air washed over us
and as we lay she poured these words into me:

Stars around the beautiful moon
hide back their luminous form
whenever all full she shines
on the earth:
Silvery.

Though they be only breath, the words which she commanded are immortal.
Of all the stars, the most beautiful.
And floating there in the dark
they washed over me
like a mountain wind upon an oak tree.
Aphrodite had overcome me with longing for a girl and her words.
